RAW SCORE : 9.625
This haunt is fairly new but has an old feel to it. I like that each year changes are made and they add a lot with detail. I love the atmosphere that surrounds the hauntgoer while in this haunt. It is fun and well worth seeing.
I laughed and jumped at these monsters. There were so many actors that did a great job. I can't think of one other haunt with this many actors. At times there was always someone there and that took away from the anticipation. I like for there to be more suspense.
I like the outdoor set the best. They did a great job decorating the set but I couldn't tell if there was one theme. Going from one room to the next does not always flow. This took away from the scare factor. It takes a little more to be scared when it's obvious that it is just a haunted house.
Overall, this is still one of my top five haunted houses. Make sure to put this one on your list.
Set rocks, actors are very intense
Too many actors and no suspense
This haunt is definitely on my list of "must-do" haunts. This is my third time going through and, without comparing it too much to last year, I felt like there wasn't much changed from last year. Granted, lots of people will be seeing this for the first time, so that fact it probably pointless. Leave it to me to point it out, anyway!
The acting in Field of Corpses is really top-notch. I think many haunts in town should send their actors to see how it's done. There was a lot of interaction, with the actors making comments about us, and one that spent the first half of the haunt breathing down my neck...very unnerving! There are several hillbillies that seem to crawl out of every nook and cranny. I'm not sure what's so scary about hillbillies, but they really creeped me out. A lot of the scares come from people crawling on the ground, out from under furniture, and from under bridges and also from the hillbillies banging and dragging assorted farm utensils!
There are several different scenes throughout this long, winding haunt. My favorite this year included the bridge/pond, mineshaft (or cellar), baby's nursery, and playground. Field of Corpses has the best execution of the guy in the electric chair (get it...execution? Um. Yeah). They way sounds, sights, and even smells are incorporated is just genius.
I came away from Field of Corpses, not so much with my adrenaline pumping, but with a feeling of genuine creepiness and the overwhelming urge to go and bathe!
Awesome sets, great acting, authenticity, sensory overload
Long wait between groups
WOW! This haunt blew me away. It is an outdoor/indoor haunt and definitely had the most actors of any haunt we have seen in opening weekend. Each actor puts so much energy and credibility into their parts and they are freaking everywhere (they even crawl out from underneath refrigerators and cupboards)!
The layout and the set design was very creative and detailed as well. I found myself looking around in each room and not wanting to leave because I couldn't possibly see all the details before I had to move on. The best is the electrocution room - great effects! The most memorable moment for me was the animatronic of the baby eating a limb in her crib while a real life mommy tries to pull it away.
They have every type of room imaginable so get ready for a ride! Oh yeah, there is also a "threat of electrical impulse" warning before you enter. We even saw a woman leaving this haunt before we went in - she was VERY shaken and disturbed.
Set design, acting, scary!
Actor guiding group through takes away from scare factor
Field of Corpses has set the standard by which all other haunted houses should be measured. There was an abundance of monsters that interacted with the visitors throughout the haunt coming from every angle, and at one point even through the air! There was no detail overlooked as all of the scenes were engulfed in the murderous atmosphere including the smell of rotting flesh. The path goes on and on exposing the audience to horror after horror.
The best part about this haunt is the actors and the sets. They are all absolutely creative and well-executed. I would have given all perfect score but our guide (though he was funny) became too much of a distraction to soak in all what was going on.
This haunt would do well to allow the guests to have a self-guided tour to really experience all the Field of Corpses has to offer. I conclude that this is how great haunts should be done.
Entire haunt
Tour guide was a huge distraction; otherwise, a perfect score!
Well, it's another top-notch year for this haunt!
We were led through this haunt by a costumed guide. For me personally, the guide is too much of a distraction from the haunt itself, and the one I had talked non-stop. Some people enjoy the added entertainment the guide provides, I am just not one of those people.
That aside, this haunt has raised the bar this year. No real theme with this one, more of a transition from one nightmare to another. And just when it seems the end of the haunt is near, the realization hits it most definitely is not. The length of this haunt is perfect to me. There are so many details that the hauntgoer could go through several times and see something new every time.
The actors are incredible and they stay in character well. These actors really push the limits with their characters, and this adds to the fear level. There are actors where it's least expected, so watch out!
There are numerous scenes here that are very intense and graphic, and if you are faint-hearted you might want to skip this one. But if you are like me, and enjoy in-your-face, realistic scares, this haunt is a must see!
Great set design, great actors
Tour guides, too many actors in some scenes
I was impressed by Field of Corpses. The sets were incredibly detailed and realistic with clever use of props and well placed animatronics that were actually creepy! An actor served as our guide through the field of corpses which was both good and bad. I thought our guide Jeff was very funny with a wonderfully gory costume, but sometimes having him there detracted from the experience. It seems like the guide helped the actors execute consistently good timing and it was a unique addition compared to other haunts.
The graveyard and mine at the beginning were awesome, particularly because of the great actors. I was so overwhelmed with the set I didn't notice the dead bodies at my feet coming to life to devour me. These actors did a great job of interacting with the crowd and maintaining a lot of energy. The zombies had our group cringing at their advances and athletic feats!
At the end, my head hurt both from laughing as well as screaming.
Lots of awesome actors, realistic sets/props/FX, great detail and costumes
Guide was a little distracting and made it less scary
This year, I had decided to be a little more withholding with my perfect tens. It should take a truly extraordinary haunted house to achieve a perfect score. But no matter how hard I tried, I could not think of a single area where I could deduct a point from Field of Corpses. It truly is an exceptional haunted house and still one of the best haunted attractions I have ever seen.
The scare factor is real and intense. All the necessary pieces of a haunt converge here for an authentically spooky experience, and not a single element is overlooked.
The set design rivals Frightmare with its painstaking attention to detail and authenticity. Even when using animatronics, the artificial always contains a live-actor element as well, creating a very believable atmosphere that allows me to lose myself in the story. For being located in the middle of a dense suburb, Field of Corpses feels like an entire village that time forgot. The use of lighting and scent is exceptional, adding dimensions that enhance the actors' performances.
And speaking of actors, this haunt has great ones. I loved our tour guide, who kept the haunt moving at a consistent pace. I love how the use of dark humor can have me screaming and laughing at the same time throughout Field of Corpses.
Hats off to this haunt for a job very well done!
Excellent scares, actors, sets, and length
None
One word that would describe this haunt is fun! I really enjoyed this haunt and would totally recommend it to everyone. Everything flowed together in this haunt and it really seemed like they worked hard to get where they're at. I applaud the actors. They put forth extraordinary effort and truly engaged everyone in this haunt. I also really like the idea of a guide. Not many haunts do this...it's different and has its pros and cons, but mostly I enjoyed this part.
My guide was pretty hilarious too. He was fun, and I really like the fact that they didn't take themselves too seriously. While the guide is a unique aspect to this haunt, I felt like we missed out on a few scare opportunities because of the guide. I felt like he was cuing the other actors as we walked into each room, making what would happen next a little predictable. However, this wasn't a huge deal for me.
Length was perfect - not too long and not too short. This haunt was excellent.
Engaging actors, great set and scares, perfect length
I can't complain
