REVIEW

The beginning of this haunted house rocks! The trailer ride got me in the mood. I liked the changes to the ride this year. The set at this haunted house is one of my favorites. Everything looked and seemed realistic. The alligator that came out of the corn really got me.

It did get creepy walking through the corn. The actors were placed very well. They distracted us visually and came from behind to get us. This was all done very well. The groups, however, were sent through way too close. We ran into the group in front of us and the groups behind all caught up as well. By the end it was a line of about thirty people. Most of the props and actors were set off before we got to them and did not have enough time to reset. The ones that did go off were not as scary because we just heard them. I like anticipation and suspense. The spacing took away from the overall experience.

I still really enjoyed this haunt and it is one of my favorites. I would take my friends back to see this haunt.

PROS

Great beginning and realistic set

CONS

Groups put too close together

REVIEW

I loved Terror in the Corn! Anderson Farms brings together so many of the elements that make this season so much fun: pumpkins, hay bales, cornstalks, warm fires, apple cider, and of course...being scared out of your pants! The corn was higher this year than last year and that really added to the creepiness of this haunt. The fun started when we boarded the wagon ride and headed out into the cornfield. The first stop was an old barn, whose doors slammed shut behind us! There were several little scenes along the way that were mostly entertaining, not so terrifying. I do miss having people run out of the corn and jump on the wagon which really notched up the scare factor of the wagon ride. I also felt like the ride was a lot shorter this year than last year.

The second part consisted of a ghost town out in the middle of the cornfield. This was the best part, with the most scares. The path wound along the streets of the old town where my favorite scenes were the dining car in the old trailer, the dead birds, and the general gore of the ghost town, complete with chainsaw-wielding maniacs.

The haunt finished up in a cemetery with the best tombstone sayings I've ever seen. There weren't any scares in this part, but the scenery was fantastic: the old house, the pond, the craggy trees, and the old bridge were the coolest.

If you love fall and all the sights, sounds, and smells that go along with it, treat yourself to a trip up to Anderson Farms and Terror in the Corn!

PROS

Ghost town, scenery, wagon ride, gory scenes!

CONS

Shorter wagon ride, no one jumping out of the corn

REVIEW

Anderson Farms has a great experience for family with kids and is worth it to check out their pumpkin patch, petting zoo, corn maze and other attractions. Their haunted house is also good for young adolescents as it does have some scary imagery not suitable for young kids.

The wagon ride in the beginning is different than other haunts - taking the riders to the drop-off point in the middle of the corn. Along the way there were various scenes the wagon stopped at to kind of pump up the audience (I found them mildly amusing at best, but the teens certainly loved them).

Once dropped off, we entered the Bates Motel and began going through several different rooms. The theme was mostly consistent with rooms like the old kitchen and the creepy "little house on the prairie" kids' playroom. There were many interesting props to look at, but not many of them were really creepy.

It got much better when we entered the Old Time Ghost Town and mineshafts. The set was great. We were wandering in a maze constructed out of old wooden facades with different doors and windows to set our imagination off.

However, there didn't seem to be enough actors to capitalize on all the scare points. The actors were mediocre in enthusiasm and there were way too many chainsaws to annoy us. The spacing was very poor and we kept running into the group ahead of us, and the ones behind us were doing the same. We felt rushed in going through and really didn't have enough time to take in all the visuals.

PROS

Length, comical settings

CONS

Not very creepy, actors were not giving it their all

REVIEW

The setting and entertainment value for Terror in the Corn is exceptional and tops the list in this category, in my humble opinion. Start the evening with a "Hoedown" at Anderson Farm. Don't miss the petting zoo, pumpkin patch, music, and old-fashioned family fun. Top off your evening at the Terror in the Corn haunted attraction out in the cornfields. First, they loaded us up for a hay ride (minus the hay) and hauled us off into the middle of a haunted field. With spooks and scares along the way, it made the setting for a really good haunt.

It was not the scariest haunt we went to, but it did a good job of startling our group a few times. They had good props and effects as we wound our way through villages out in the middle of nowhere. There were many scares that added to the memory that we had been left in the middle of a cornfield and that we had no real idea where we were.

The only shortcoming of this haunt is the need to space groups further apart as we tended to run into each other. Also, the haunt ends before it is actually over leaving the impression that they didn't seal the deal.

PROS

Farm location, hay ride, being abandoned in a field

CONS

Poor finish, groups too close together

REVIEW

This haunt started out in a way that no other haunt does. We boarded a large trailer that was pulled by a tractor. We were then taken through the corn fields, and there were several stops along the way that were very entertaining. My favorite stop was the outhouses: They were a great surprise!

Once we got to our destination, all passengers got off the trailer, and the haunt adventure began! We started out going into one room, and once we went through there, we found ourselves walking along the trails in the corn with great scenes and scares along the way. There were plenty of actors in this haunt, and they knew how to get a great jump out of us.

Some of the props here were very realistic, and really added to the scare factor.

The mine shaft, and the ghost town were both well done, and there were lots of creepy scenes, and rooms along the way through them. Make sure to take the time to read the headstones in the cemetery as you pass through. I really enjoyed this one, not only because the haunt itself was unique, but the length was perfect, and the entire setting was very entertaining. There was also lots to do here once we were done with the haunt. Add this one to your list, and take the entire family!

PROS

Great setting, great rooms/scenes

CONS

Poor group spacing, some costumes could be better

REVIEW

It seems like Anderson Farms is a great place for the whole family. There are animals, pumpkins, a corn maze, kids' attractions and a very good haunt! Terror in the Corn begins with what I've always called a hayride, however those of you with allergies needn't worry because there is no actual hay.

After being introduced to some truly gruesome and, at times, scary scenes on the wagon ride, we ended up in the middle of nowhere, parked in front of a creepy log cabin-style shack where a ghoul forced us to unload. From there we walked through a path laid out in the corn and eventually ended up in a ghost town filled with gore.

The sets in Terror in the Corn are quite good. I got the feeling of being trapped in some backwards town filled with crazy bloodthirsty residents. Some of the actors portraying the residents didn't have the best timing or weren't scary, but that may have been due to the congestion caused by the crowd.

The timing between groups wasn't the best and I found myself knowing what was coming next, because we kept catching up to other groups or they to us.

Overall, Terror in the Corn is very entertaining with great sets and lots of creepy props that gave me the willies!

PROS

Hayride, corn, Anderson farm, great creepy sets

CONS

Actor timing, running into other groups

REVIEW

Terror in the Corn is a blast! One of the advantages to being located so far north of Denver is that they've got a large amount of property to work with, and it's used to its potential.

This haunt is long, and the way it's set up makes it feel like multiple attractions in one. There's a ride through the cornfield with actual scenes that contain props and actors, not just random monsters popping out of the corn. Then, there's a walk through the cornfield itself, with lots of appropriate scares such as hillbillies or scary animals. Last, there's an entire ghost town and mine shaft full of spooks and scares.

Terror in the Corn doesn't break much new ground as far as haunted attractions go, but it does an excellent job of providing very solid scares, consistent themes, and a good value for the money. The only thing I deducted was from the overall scare factor, which was a bit ruined by the too-close spacing of groups as we went through.

PROS

Great sets, good actors, authentic and scary

CONS

Poor spacing of groups

REVIEW

I love the authenticity of this haunt. It's been one of my favorites because it's different than a lot of the other haunts. To start, they had everyone get on a huge wagon/truck type thing and drove us around in the corn for awhile. Throughout this ride, there were different scare spots. I just have to say that the full moon, the cool night air, and the adrenaline of being at a haunted house made this experience extra frightening. I won't ruin any of the surprises in this, but I have to say that I got a kick out of the skeleton...

After the hay ride part, they sent us off in groups through the walking part of the haunt. There were some pretty cool set ideas that they had too. I think one of my favorites was the narrow hallway right at the beginning of this that had people dining at small tables...very intriguing.

There were some other great parts, but everything was off a little bit because they weren't spacing the groups far enough apart. My group kept running into the group in front of me, and the group behind mine kept catching up to mine. This totally ruined the scares when we could see what was going to happen when the monster jumped out at the group in front of us. I really felt rushed through this haunt which I think really affected the haunt in a negative way all around.

Also, at the end of the haunt, they have you walking through a cemetery. This is kind of fun because the headings on the tombstones are hilarious and fun to read. However, this part dragged on. It was too long and it wasn't scary out there...yet it was fairly entertaining.

Overall, if a few changes were made, this haunt would be awesome.
